The Master in Marketing Management equips you with the skills and knowledge required of business management at the highest levels, teaching the globally relevant skills and competencies that mark out effective sales and marketing managers. You will develop top marketing and sales capabilities as well as gaining strategic insight into the industry. It also boasts an optional international residential period so you can gather experience and develop your network on a truly international level.

Marketing is an essential part of business and can be applied to every sector, and the Master in Marketing Management prepares you for a career in any industry by developing your academic and soft skills as well as exposing you to a multi-cultural environment both on campus in Madrid, on the residential period, and during the host of international opportunities offered by the Beyond Borders Experience.

Be part of a select group of young professionals from a broad spectrum of academic and professional backgrounds, either recently graduated or in the early stages of their careers, seeking to be the future leaders in the field of sales and marketing.

Pre-Program

  • Intensive Spanish Course

Although the full program begins in October, you may attend the pre-program on-line, to familiarize yourself with the analytical and quantitative tools critical for the Master in Management. All students without a background in Quantitative Analysis and Financial Accounting are expected to take these courses. An optional intensive Spanish course, held in Madrid, during September and October is also part of the pre-program.

In the Business Fundamentals module, the students from all Masters in Management work and study together to achieve convergence with regard to fundamental skills and tools required by today's top managers. Key areas such as financial accounting, marketing, quantitative methods, and organisational behaviour are covered in this first term. A core element of IE's philosophy is that an entrepreneurial mindset and entrepreneurial management are essential for modern business leaders. Students learn how to analyse business ideas, creatively capture value, and evaluate marketing strategies in their different stages of progress. The first term also includes the Accelerate module, initiating the continuous development of "soft skills" such as teamwork, communication, and leadership skills. These courses will build a solid foundation for the rest of the studies, expanding your perspective to see a business organization as a whole, not just as the sum of its parts.

The second period comprises the core applied module, during which business fundamentals are applied to the marketing area. Students prepare reports and give presentations. As teamwork and knowledge-sharing play an increasingly crucial role, workshops and team-building sessions are held in order to translate theory into practice.

At this stage students have a sound working knowledge of the marketing area, have developed their management skills and are proficient in strategic and innovative thinking. They are now equipped to take their training to specialization level. During this term students assume the role of senior marketing managers and corporate leaders as they think through and solve complex business problems.
